Analysis of the eddy-current induced artifacts and the temporal compensation in nuclear magnetic resonance imaging.

چکیده
Reduction of eddy currents by a temporal compensation of the input current waveform to the gradient coil is studied with an analytic solution. The technique is the inverse filtering of the eddy-current affected field response, which is calculated from the diffusion equation. The limitation of the temporal compensation due to the spatially variant eddy currents is also investigated for whole-body diagnostic imaging systems and small-bore nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) microscopy systems. Within a limited imaging volume of less than 60% of the gradient coil diameter, most of eddy-current problems can be solved by the technique.

Aim: The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate imaging artifacts induced by Titanium, Zirconium, Titanium-Zirconium abutments in CT, MRI and CBCT imaging modalities. Methods: A 4×8mm titanium fixture was inserted in a dry human mandible. Titanium, Zirconium and Titanium–Zirconium abutments measuring 10.5 mm in height are located on the fixture, one by one. Each abutment was scan...

متن کاملDual-time-point FDG-PET/CT Imaging of Temporal Bone Chondroblastoma: A Report of Two Cases
Temporal bone chondroblastoma is an extremely rare benign bone tumor. We encountered two cases showing similar imaging findings on computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and dual-time-point 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/CT. In both cases, CT images revealed temporal bone defects and sclerotic changes around the tumor. Most parts of the ...

In recent years, the development of neuroimaging techniques such as high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), positron emission tomography (PET), or single photon emission tomography (SPECT) has promoted the identification of structural and functional characteristics underlying mental disorders to a great extent. In anxiety disorders, recent...
